Like many Cessna's, the 310 was introduced in the 1950s in the United States. It was the first twin-engine aircraft designed for civil aviation and therefore a technological gamble. The gamble certainly paid off. The military and the US Air Force were very impressed with the design and ordered a few hundred of them.
The Cessna 310 can carry 4 passengers in addition to a crew of 2.
In total, about 6300 Cessna 310s have been built.
