Robinson models

Robinson is an American helicopter manufacturer and is one of the market leaders. The company was founded in 1973 by Frank D. Robinson and is still run by a Robinson today: Kurt Robinson.

Robinson's flagship parts are the R22, R44 and R66. It's these three models that have been dominating the aviation world since 1979 (R22) and 1993 (R44). The R22 is a two-seater, while the R44 has 4 seats and a piston engine and the R66 (2010) is a 5-seater equipped with a Rolls-Royce RR300 engine. Each one has been declined in different sub-models (Astro, Raven I and II, Cadet...).

Naturally, Robinson has to compete with Airbus Helicopters (formerly Eurocopter) but also with Guimbal helicopters.
