AgustaWestland SpA was a multinational industrial company whose primary production was civil and military helicopters. The company is now a subsidiary and exclusive property of Leonardo SpA. It was formed in July 2000 as an Anglo-Italian multinational. The collaboration between Agusta and Westland dates back to 1981 when the two companies created the joint venture European Helicopter Industries. In 2016, following a reorganization of the company, AgustaWestland merged with Leonardo. As a result of this operation, AgustaWestland ceased to exist as a company and became the helicopter division of Leonardo.
