This is the perfect day out for any aviation enthusiast.
As a life-long aeroplane buff I could willingly visit the Duxford Aviation Museum every week end and not get bored as there is always something new to see. As an experienced private pilot and part owner of a very clean and well maintained Cessna 172 I have been spoiled into only visiting by air. To justify this indulgence I am offering seats at cost to like minded people who would like to join me.
The trip from Gamston takes just over an hour heading south with views of Rutland & Grafham Water, passing overhead RAF Wittering all whilst talking to the various Radar Units en route before turning east towards Royston where we will first contact the Duxford Control Tower.
On arrival we will park our aeroplane on the side of the barriers occupied by a privileged few and stroll over to the main hangar to Check in. Then you will be able to enjoy several hours exploring the many hangars and exhibits, my advertised ticket price includes up to 2-3 hours at the Museum, if you wish to prolong your visit you might be required to pay an extra charge to the Museum.
At an agreed time we will return to our aeroplane through the “aircrew only” gates, start the engine and depart for Gamston on a reciprocal course arriving at the end of the afternoon with the satisfaction of having enjoyed a very interesting and fulfilling day out.
