Sleap a former RAF training Airfield
Sleap (pronounced "Slape") is an ex-Royal Air Force airfield, which was opened in April 1943, and used by RAF advanced flying training units.
Based in Shropshire this historic airfield is full of Charm with the original building and tower intact. It is situated just inside a military zone called a Matz which belongs to RAF Shawbury. RAF Shawbury is the combined helicopter training base for all of the armed forces and is where Prince Harry and Prince William learnt to fly.
Sleap is popular with pilots which is largely due to its friendly atmosphere and you may have guessed it a great restaurant which will not break the bank!
