About Chris

The boring part is I run a groundwork, building and property development company but never mind that my passion is flying, I fly everything I can get my hands on from an Evans VP1 and a Pitts special to the whole rental fleet at Take Flight Aviation which includes a Cessna 172sp, several Cessna 152s, PA28s from a 140hp cherokee and 160hp Warriors to 180hp Cherokee and Archers, I also fly two 300hp PA32 six seaters there too. Safe to say there's a plane available to suit every occasion! I also have a helicopter licence with ratings on the Robinson R22, R44 and the Bell 206 Jet Ranger, 2, 4 and 5 seater helicopters. I have been lucky enough to fly around a great deal of Europe including France, Spain, The Balearic Islands, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Closer to home I've flown to a decent amount of uk airfields and airports. The Channel Islands, the Scilly Isles, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man are also places I fly to regularly. I entered the 'dawn til dusk' challenge a few years ago with a friend of mine, the theme being to visit every U.K. Sovereigncy island with an airstrip and we successfully visited 36 islands between Bembridge and Unst with 15 minutes to spare including Northern Ireland and two beach strips in the Outer Hebrides having covered over 1400 nautical miles. Your probably thinking 'a passion'.....you're obsessed..... and you could well be right! I have an aerobatic rating, night rating, IRR rating and a tail dragger rating all of which are current and exercised regularly. I also have an American licence with high performance, complex, tail dragger and aerobatic ratings. So where to? Come up with an adventure and we'll give it a go!

Aerobatic flight in a Pitts special biplane

Very good flight, the Pitts is fantastic and Chris is an excellent pilot. Although I did not feel unsafe at all, 4g gave me more physical strain than I anticipated, so be sure you are up for it if you are not very fit. Highly recomended experience and very glad I have done it. Thank you!

Awesome, awesome flight...... This was my first time in a powered light aircraft and what an experience. Chris suggested we wait a while as the low cloud was due to clear. We ended up with the perfect conditions and completed a multitude of aerobatic manoeuvres. Chris was the perfect host and pilot and I would 100% recommend Chris and this experience. If you’ve considered it but yet to book up - just do it, you will not regret it. I will definitely be back. Thanks again Chris. Lee Ham...
