Hi all! My name's Mike, I'm a well qualified Pilot, holding a licence, Night Rating, Complex Rating and Instrument Rating. New to Wingly but certainly not new to flying! I've been flying since I was a kid and am from a family of aviators. I've done countless trips around the UK and Europe - I love flying and sharing the experience of flight - it's a special thing to do. My flights start with a pre-flight brief - weather, our route, emergency procedures etc. Once we're good to go then we'll head to the aircraft and complete the pre-flight checks together. This is a great opportunity to learn about the aircraft, ask any questions and settle in. Once we're done checking the aircraft out we'll get any necessary clearances, complete our power and pre-departure checks and be heading to the skies! I own and fly a complex, variable pitch retractable aircraft with some of the most up to date technology. This is a direct injection aircraft so is not only super safe but also fast, with a cruising speed of 120kts (around 140mph), compared to typical cruising speeds of 90kts. This means that we get to our destination quicker but still allows us to take in all the sights with plenty of time on the way. This additional speed opens up far more destinations around Europe compared to other offerings on Wingly. As a Pilot, I'm highly experienced and have every possible rating. I'm therefore currently completing my Flight Instructor Rating so I'll soon be able to teach people to fly and pass on some knowledge to the next generation of Pilots!
